Music is very important to me, so when I knocked over my PC speaker and broke the audio jack to the left speaker, I figured I could:
b.) Live with music coming out of one speaker
a.) Get a new set
c.) Fix it.
After pricing out a replacement set ($75?!?), I choose to fix it.
I needed a replacement mono jack, but the only thing Radio Shack had was a Mono microphone y-adapter, so I cut one end off and spliced the two wires. This worked out since there was a good chance I’d mess it up and need the other one.
After some preparation, I soldered the two lines to the proper places.
