September 11th, 2007 – Six years later

WTC Fountain

As I’ve previously written, I will never forget where I was on September 11th, 2001 when the 1st plane hit.

Again, I take September 11th off to simply remember the people we lost and to think about what I have and where I want to be in my life. At this point in my life, I’m married to a wonderful lady, I have a great family and friends. It may be corny, but I’m happy and I hope I properly appreciate that.
As I mentioned last year, the above photo is from greatbuildings.com. This is how I want to remember the World Trade Center and the people I knew there, not the smoldering ruin or empty pit that it later became.

One thing that is different this year is that people are asking “Six Years Later, Are People 9/11’d Out?“.
ABC got hammered when they originally decided not to Air Reading of 9/11 Victim Names (Since reversed).

I don’t have the answer to that. Certainly our politicians don’t think so. Most on the GOP side of the aisle attempt to leverage 9/11 every chance they get. I hope I’m disappointed but I’m pretty certain that former NYC mayor and Presidential Wannabe, Rudy Giuliani, will exercise poor taste and make a political event of the memorial.

Me, I don’t intend to watch the reading of the names. I may leave the TV on, but likely I won’t really listen.

Music I’m listening to right Now:

Nothing. I’m just taking it easy today.
